:: The ICBLC Conference ::

The conference was an excellent opportunity to discuss approaches and strategies for using and disseminating results and to exchange ideas and experiences of ongoing and finalised projects. It also provided the opportunity to present Sokrates / Grundvig projects and network with partners, promoters, national and EU representatives and other participants who are interested in vocational training. Vocational training experts shared their knowledge on intercultural communication, business & learning competences, a key factor in networked economies and in the education and training sector.

Topics:

Additionally to the plenary session four breakout sessions covered the following topics:

21st June:

22nd June:

“Intercultural Communication Competences: Turning challenges into opportunities”

“Intercultural Learning and Teaching Competences: Learning and knowledge development – Linkages within and beyond companies, VET-institutions and institutions of higher education”

“From Providing to Guiding: the teaching and learning competencies in the knowledge based society”

“Intercultural Business Competences: Meeting the labour market needs of the EU – Redefining secondary and tertiary education and training“

Contribution
:

Conference participants had several possibilities to contribute to the Sokrates conference “Intercultural communication business & learning competences”:

  • *Participation in the panel sessions: In the plenary session on the opening day, keynote speakers introduced the conference topic “Intercultural Communication Business Learning Competence”. The conclusions of the conference will be discussed in the closing session on the second conference day.

  • *Presentation in workshops: Representatives of Sokrates projects (promoters, managers, partners) had the possibility to present their projects in one of the four workshops. Following short presentations of complementary or similar project approaches the goal of these workshops is to network and cluster projects and to develop joint valorisation strategies in moderated discussions.

  • *Presentation of posters: In addition to the presentation of projects in workshops, there was the possibility to pin up posters of other projects and discuss them with interested conference participants during coffee breaks.

  • *Participation in the workshops

  • *Networking in breaks and at the Conference Dinner
